Claire D'Souza

Hi! I am Claire D’Souza, one of your new young adult group representatives on the pastoral council. I have been a full-time member of this community since I moved to San Diego approximately a year and a half ago. I was introduced to the Newman Center by Warren (now my husband), while visiting him from Connecticut. We had met in graduate school in Connecticut and he moved to San Diego after graduating. I then joined him here after I was done with my PhD.

I was born and raised in Burgundy, France. I did my Bachelors and Masters in England, and then came to the US to do my PhD in Immunology. I am now working as a postdoctoral fellow at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology on the UCSD campus.

I enjoy baking, watching movies, cross-stitching, walking and reading.

I received the sacrament of confirmation last Easter here at the Newman Center, and at that time, made a decision to get more involved in our community. So when I got nominated for pastoral council last summer, I accepted. Both Warren and I live far from our families and Good Sam’s has become our ‘home away from home’. I am looking forward to using my gifts to help our wonderful community grow and flourish. Please feel free to contact me !
