Joy Kim
I was born in Seoul, South Korea. I lived in Seoul till I was 16 years
old. Growing up in one community for most of my K-12 school years, I
was very fortunate to have a special group of friends who enjoyed
in-line skating, ice skating, watching movies, going to Karaoke (an
essential part of being a Korean!), getting involved in school play,
and simply chitchatting in front of the library together (always being
ready to begin studying at a moment's notice).
When I was about to turn 17 years old, I came to Los Angeles, and my
life has become even more exciting! I got to experience various
aspects of life in this diverse society. I also struggled with my
faith after I came here for a while. After a long journey, I got to
develop a deeper understanding about life and became very interested
in intercultural communication.
When I first visited San Diego, I was so impressed by how beautiful
this city was and how friendly the people were that I decided to come
back to live here someday. I am studying communication at UCSD now,
and being involved in this lovely Catholic community, I am a very
happy San Diegan.
Please approach me anytime in person or contact me by email
(jyk008@ucsd.edu). I would love to hear from you! Or, just wait till I
talk to you first!
