Kenia Milloy, Vice Chair
Hi, I’m Kenia Milloy Fuenmayor, the vice-chair of the Pastoral Council for 2007-08. I’m excited to be part of this very enthusiastic, energetic, and diverse group of people whose mission it is to help the Newman Center UCSD be the best it can be. I became part of the community about four years ago, when Julie Marner told me about what an amazing place this was. I joined the choir and have happily been part of the music ministry since then.
I’m originally from Venezuela, but I have been in California since I was 10 years old.
Since coming to San Diego, I’ve been part of three Catholic communities including teaching 6th grade at Good Shepherd School for about fourteen years. I was also involved in other ministries throughout the years at the various churches I attended, including RCIA, catechetical ministry, Eucharistic minister, social justice work, and much more.
I am currently part-time Academic Advisor and part time Spanish teacher at The Preuss School UCSD. I am passionate about my work with young people and about working at Preuss. The work I do helps students change the hope they have about their futures.
The other jobs I feel passionate about are being mother, sister, daughter, and friend. I have three grown kids and a 16 year-old foster daughter. My kids have grown into caring and giving young adults.
“I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”
(Helen Keller)
