Billy Wojciak, Student Minister, Community Life Committee

My name is Billy Wojciak, and I am a third year aerospace engineering student at Revelle College.

I found the Catholic Community when I was a first year student, and have felt at home here since the beginning. I am privileged to be serving as a student minister for my second year. As a part of the Community Life committee, I enjoy the social atmospheres at our retreats, Thursday Night Dinners, intramural sports events, and Small Church Communities. (Ask me all about Small Church Communities!)

This will also be my second year on the Pastoral Council as a student minister representative. I love having the opportunity to work with some of the young adults and resident community members at our church. Together as a council, we work to build community between the students, young adults, and residents.

Outside of the Newman Center, I am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and am an associate member of Alpha Phi Omega, a community service organization on campus. Also, I have been involved in the implementation of UCSD Cares Week, and am the chair of the Revelle Judicial Board. This year, I am working as a Resident Advisor for Warren College. I try to seek opportunities that will help bring me closer to discerning my own life’s calling, and while I search for my passion, I remain open and vigilant for what everyday’s journey holds for me.

Well, enough about me already - I urge everyone to take advantage of all the opportunities that lie before you. If you feel that you are called to do something, go for it! I believe that through those experiences, we all have the chance to see Christ in others and in ourselves. After all, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid…” (Hebrews 13:6)
