Christopher Chan, Student Minister, Liturgy

Chris' picture[C]hristopher Chan, better known as Chris Chan, but sometimes mistakenly called Chris Chin, is correctly identified as a Christian.

[H]e was born and raised in a Catholic family up in Northern California before coming to San Diego for a college education in Music (Piano Performance) and Cognitive Science (Clinical Aspects of Cognitive Science). He hopes to one day combine both fields to become a Music Therapist, so that he can use his love for music to help those with different disabilities.

[R]oughly 3 years ago, he was introduced to the Newman Center through his cousin, a UCSD Alumni. At the end of his second year, he joined the choir and has been helping on the piano for the 12:30 Mass ever since. [

I]n addition to playing piano for the choir, he will be part of the Liturgy Committee during the 2010-2011 year, along with Ryan Mak and Long Nguyen.

[S]o to conclude, this Chinese Catholic Christian Cognitive Scientist/Concert Pianist, Christopher Chan, or Chris Chan if you prefer, would like to welcome you to the Newman Center, where it is a new year, and a new opportunity to grow through strong friendships, faith in God, and faith in one another.
