Cristina Farkas, Student Minister, Outreach
I was born in Torrence, CA on March 6,1988. Soon after, my parents decided to flee the urban lifestyle and I spent the next 16 years growing up in a small, rural part of San Diego called Valley Center. I have a younger sister and brother.
I am a proud Catholic school survivor, who thrived at St. Mary's K-8 and later the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, in San Diego. Those 13 years of Catholic education gave me a firm foundation for my love of prayer, community service and learning.
I decided to come to UCSD because of its excellent reputation in the sciences; I am a proud ERC student, currently majoring in Developmental Psychology, while fulfilling pre-med requirements. Apart from studying, I enjoy dancing Cuban Salsa Rueda, playing tennis, and working as a lab assistant at the Salk Institute.
When I came to UCSD last year, getting involved in the Catholic community seemed natural and I quickly came to know that some of the most giving and kind people on campus tend to gather together every Sunday. I am thrilled to be a part of the Student Ministry team, and believe God has great things in store for the 07-08 year! God Bless!
