Good tidings, everyone! My name is Lauren Claravall. I’m a 4th year Biology major and Theatre minor at Revelle College, and I hope to eventually become a Doctor of Family Medicine with my own practice. I grew up in the small neighboring towns of Cerritos and Artesia, CA. They’re a bit bigger but kind of remind me of the kookiness of Stars Hallow in Gilmore Girls (if you’ve ever seen that show). I am currently a student volunteer at the Diabetes Prevention Program and president of Habitat for Humanity at UCSD. My interests include (but are not limited to) acting, sleeping, watching TV and movies, singing, listening to music, eating sushi and chocolate (not together), making stupid jokes and pop culture references, and helping people.
I’m kind of new to Catholic Social Justice, but I’ve learned how important it is to our Faith. As it says in James 2:26, “Just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.” I look forward to learning more and growing in this aspect of our Faith this year with you all. Please feel free to contact me for information about or even suggestions for social justice events.
I appreciate your curiosity and thank you for actually taking time out of your busy life to read (or maybe even skim through) my odd bio. (Did I put too many parenthetical asides?)
Peace!
