About Patty
I am blessed to be part of the Newman Center, Catholic Community at UCSD staff; I have been part of the staff since November 2004. This 2007-08 year I will continue as office manager, accountable for every day administration. I will also continue to direct the process of Initiation (RCIA--Rite of Christian Initiation) and the Confirmation program.
My life experiences happily include 36 years of marriage, 3 amazing adult children, and 3 delightful grandsons. Early in our marriage, I made the comment that I did not want to live in the same house forever. George, my spouse, must have taken me quite seriously as we have lived in many, many places, mostly up and down the Pacific Coastline. We are glad to be settled in San Diego for these past 5 years.
Since 1976, I have worked in 6 parishes or Catholic schools. Most of my service has been in catechetical and liturgical ministries. I love to learn and to teach. I have a great love for the Christian Initiation process and sacramental preparation. My formal education includes a BA in Economics and an MA in Theology.
I believe that our lives unfold in ways which allow us to continually grow in love and service to one another as we strive to live out the Gospel values. I look forward to the upcoming year and God’s abundant grace poured out in the Catholic community at UCSD and in our daily living.
