Lupe Rios is very passionate about liturgy and music. From the time he was a child in Mexico, he was inmersed in sacred worship; as an altar server, lector, Eucharistic minister, and finally as director of worship. He worked in campus ministry at the University of Washington for three years and then moved on to work at the parish level ever since. Most recently, he was director of worship for Mission San Luis Rey, a parish of almost 6000 families, where he oversaw 12 music groups and several liturgical ministries.
He is currently the full time music director at Mary Star of the Sea in La Jolla and the director of the Sunday evening choir here at the UCSD Newman Center. Lupe plays several music instruments and sings. He has recorded 3 CD’s in Spanish, Latin, and English. If you’d like to know more, please check out his website at lupedifranco.com.
