At the beginning of today’s reading Jesus mentioned how He cannot testify on his own behalf, but that others should testify on His behalf. This made me wonder about which ways do I testify about Jesus in my day to day life. The way I love to live my faith is through service. Helping people in need all over the world has been my passion throughout my whole life. Volunteering and serving others has been my way of spreading my love all around. This quarter I had the opportunity to work at a migrant center in Tijuana where people who were escaping violence and poverty from countries all throughout Latin America waited for a decision on their case. While I could not explicitly show them about my faith, I knew that being there for the people, and giving back was my way of showing others the love of Christ. For a long time I didn’t understand how my desire of helping others connected to my faith, while praying on it I realized that it comes from the upbringing I had, where I was taught to see God in every person I meet, and just like Jesus did it, serve those who need it the most.
I pray that as I move forward with my life, and I am faced with different challenges, I always keep sharing about God’s love in all aspects.
